Project Brief
This fictional voting campaign “Breaking Barriers” challenges teams up to twos or threes to create a non-partisan communication system . My team explore a communication campaign aimed at first-time multicultural voters in the upcoming election. This voting campaign, titled "Breaking the Barriers," is strategically designed to engage and mobilize multicultural voters by addressing the unique challenges and perspectives within these diverse communities. This initiative comprises a 3 week sprint project of making three interconnected components: 3-6 visually cohesive social media images, a dynamic 10-15 second motion graphic, and a compelling 30-second vlog. Each element of the campaign will communicate a central message that advocates for the freedom to vote while emphasizing the civil and human rights that are integral to this essential responsibility.
Through visually relevant imagery, the social media posts will highlight the significance of voting as a powerful tool for change. The motion graphic will serve as a quick, impactful reminder of the rights that protect voters and the importance of participation in the democratic process and last but not least , the vlog will provide a more personal touch showing the important of each other voices and their testimonials being first-time voters, thereby humanizing the campaign and encouraging others to engage. Process
Through this “3 Week Sprint” fictional voting campaign, I worked with two other team members named Chelsea Rogers and Jenna Vineyard naming our team (#CampaignColleagues). Our goal was to design and create a bold campaign that inspires personal and collective growth for the greater good for multi-cultural voters. Often, new voters from multicultural backgrounds face barriers that can silence their voices which discourages them from voting. Our campaign encourages our audience to break down the walls of voter suppression and build bridges of participation in order for their voices to be heard.
We portray these barriers in our designs by covering up important facial features, including the eyes and mouth, as our audience’s opinions are overlooked and their voices are silenced. The narration over the thought piece calls upon our audience to take action against voter suppression. Our campaign emphasizes the strength of diversity and unity of unique voices to bring change using the power of voting.
CREATING A CONCEPT STATEMENT TO SYNOPSIS + DEMOGRAPHIC

We start off with searching our Typography, Color Tones, and Language that synthesize with our demographic.

BUILDING MOODBOARD STYLEFRAMES AND STORYBRANDS
The mood board, style frames, and storyboards for the "Breaking the Barriers" campaign are essential to establish the visual and conceptual direction. The mood board set the tone with images that represent empowerment, unity, and civic engagement, using neutral yet inspiring color palettes and symbols of voting. To symbolize breaking barriers for multicultural votes we seek inspiration from boards where words or tear design cover up or engage with people faces/portraiture represent a barrier where for multicultural people to speak and respresenting why they need to break free.
Our moodboards provide snapshots of key visual moments, like a diverse communities standing together, emphasizing the power of participation. Storyboards will outline the flow of the motion graphic and vlog, and social media carousel ensuring that the visual narrative remains cohesive and impactful, from the social media images to the personal testimonials of first-time voters. These tools will help the team maintain consistency and ensure that the campaign’s message resonates effectively with its audience.

The visual and verbal messaging developed by meand my team highlights voter empowerment and the role of voting in fostering change. Social media/ Website posts feature visually cohesive imagery that illustrates the significance of participating in the democratic process, while the motion graphic delivers a d reminder of the protections in place for voters. The campaign's vlog will add a personal touch by showcasing first-time voters' testimonials, humanizing the message and encouraging engagement. Together, these components create a unified message aimed at breaking down barriers and fostering a sense of unity and shared responsibility in the voting process.
